RECMAR® Technical Innovations at MIBS: Advanced Solutions for GM Engines (3.0L to 5.7L) and Mercruiser Sterndrives
The Miami International Boat Show (MIBS) was the perfect stage for RECMAR® to demonstrate its leadership in marine engineering and aftermarket parts. We are proud to present our latest technical innovations, focused this year on providing comprehensive solutions for the remanufacturing and maintenance of General Motors (GM) 3.0L to 5.7L engine blocks, widely used in inboard and sterndrive applications.
Below, we detail the flagship components of our new remanufacturing and drivetrain line showcased at the event.
Component Innovation for GM Blocks & Mercruiser Transmissions
Rebuilding marine engines requires exact tolerances and materials that withstand the constant friction and corrosion of the saltwater environment. Our new engine block remanufacturing line includes key releases that deliver on our promise of High Quality Marine Parts:
- U-Joint Shaft for Mercruiser: We have introduced a high-strength driveline u-joint assembly specifically designed to couple the power of GM blocks to Mercruiser sterndrives. This shaft features precision-machined splines at its ends and a heavy-duty universal joint (U-joint), ensuring smooth torque transfer while absorbing the axial vibrations typical of Mercruiser outdrives under heavy loads.
- Marine Intake Manifold: We are launching a high-density cast iron intake manifold engineered to optimize the breathing of GM gas marine engines (3.0L to 5.7L). Its internal architecture and central intake flange ensure a homogeneous, turbulence-free air-fuel mixture flow to the cylinders, maximizing the engine's volumetric efficiency and resisting degradation from marine moisture.
Fully Assembled Cylinder Heads: OEM Precision and Efficiency
The main attraction at our booth was the introduction of our Fully Assembled Cylinder Heads for the 3.0L to 5.7L GM engine series.
From a technical standpoint, choosing a factory-assembled cylinder head offers unbeatable advantages for the marine mechanic and the machine shop:
- Perfect Seats and Sealing: The cylinder head is delivered with the entire valvetrain pre-installed: valves, valve springs, guides, and seals. The whole assembly is calibrated with high-precision CNC machinery, ensuring an immediate hermetic seal that is crucial for maintaining the exact compression ratio in these high-displacement blocks.
- Elimination of Assembly Errors: By avoiding the manual assembly of cylinder head components on the workbench, the risk of installing springs with incorrect tension, scoring valve stems, or damaging oil seals is completely eliminated—failures that quickly lead to excessive oil consumption or loss of power.
- Reduced Downtime: Installation time is drastically cut down through a true "Bolt-on" application. The inboard block can be sealed, torqued, and tuned in a fraction of the time it would take to rebuild a cylinder head piece by piece, optimizing shop profitability and getting the boat back on the water much faster.
At USA RECMAR, we continue to raise the industry standard. This new product range for GM blocks and Mercruiser sterndrives reaffirms our commitment to equipping marine professionals with reliable, efficient, and technologically advanced solutions.
